Z-TOX
APPLICATION
The Z-Tox test is designed to determine the acute toxicity of chemicals in just 5 days. Its protocol is described in OECD Guideline 236 and is useful for assessing the safety of compounds in preclinical research.
The use of fish embryos allows for high-throughput screening, providing predictability similar to adult fish and reducing animal testing.
DESCRIPTION
Incubation of embryos with different concentrations of the substance of interest spaced by a constant factor between 3 and 96 hours post-fertilization (hpf).
The use of fish embryos allows for high-throughput screening, providing predictability similar to adult fish and reducing animal testing.
DELIVERIES
The test results are reported in the technical/scientific report, for this test the average lethal concentration (LC50) is determined and the mortality graph is presented.
